The NEW Nailed That! Salon Design Idea

I had a dream, one I never expected I would fulfil, but isn’t it funny how life can take a turn with just a little hard work and will power! As my therapist tells me, I’m a very creative but complex person, “me really?” lol. I guess part of that was why I started Nailed That! I wanted to share with the world what goes on in my head, and I’ve definitely done that.

Having OCD, my brain works with order, symmetry, routine, and balance. This is perfect for a salon environment, but my personality works as different characters. Let me explain…Each animal in the salon has been specifically picked to represent a part of me, “the characters of my personality” shall we say.

For example:

  1. The Leopard of the salon, the almighty queen, is a feisty little beast but locked away behind bars. She means no harm, but get on the wrong side of her and you will know it! (Although this never happens these days, I’m much more placid than I used to be as a teenager lol, hence the fact she’s locked away.)

  1. The Zebra, is more like the “scaredy cat”. The anxiety and the worries, and wanting to run away and hide the moment it gets a little tough, the only thing is I can’t run! And I definitely don’t look as elegant as a zebra, when I do.

  1. The Giraffe is the one that stands tall. The level head, overlooking and overseeing everything, making sure it all works in the way you need it, the list maker, the note jotter & the organiser, it all stems from her.

  1. The Elephant is the big brave risk taker. The one that jumps into anything, has the big ideas and is not scared to give it ago. Brazen enough to start a salon with no idea if she could make it work… BUT I DID!

  1. And last of all… the Ostrich. The beauty and elegance, the one that swans in with all the beautiful creative design ideas and makes it happen whilst being fast paced and running a hundred miles an hour. When a design idea comes, I want to achieve it and I want to achieve it now!

So, with all these animals encapsulated in the luxurious greenery, surrounding them in their natural habitats, why wouldn’t I do that here but…with the Nailed That! twist.

It’s been a dream come true moving into my new garden salon, from a poky little box room, which was once the spare room in the house. However, if it wasn’t for that spare room starting my dream, I wouldn’t be here today, I wouldn’t be where I am, and I wouldn’t be proud to call my salon my own! So, if I’m honest, I probably sound a little bit mad, but as you can see there is lots going on in my head and I’ve never shared that with anyone but it’s how and why I came up with my salon's design. “I wanted it to reflect me!” My personality, my brain, in a nutshell.
